We are in full swing when it comes to TV dance — Season 3 World of Dance has premiered, So You Think You Can Dance is gearing up for the Judges' Round and Dancing With the Stars is concluding their winter tour in the next week.
Besides what is happening on TV, there is also a lot of dance happening on social media. If you missed any of the excitement, we are here to give you a quick round-up of things to watch and catch up on.
Here's what caught our eye this week:
1. Ben Platt:
Ben Platt utilizes the talents of Rudy Abreu and Effie Tutko, who is a member of Rudy's female dance collective, RAdiance. "Grow As We Go" is a gorgeous song with stunning movement to match.
2. Inside Dance:
When I saw that Chris Korotky and his team at Inside Dance invited Derek Hough for their fifth-anniversary cover, I was curious to see the final results. You won't be disappointed.
3. Amy Purdy
Amy Purdy is still one of my favorite DWTS contestants and of course, one of Derek's former celeb contestants. Everyone always asks me what my favorite season was and Season 18 is at the top of my list — in part, because of Amy's journey. I saw this dance live in studio. I'll never forget it.
If you've been following Amy's recent medical issue, it looks like things are on the upswing. Sending continued wishes of good health to Amy as she recovers.
4. The Crazy 8's:
I am a little obsessed with these tiny dancers. They made a huge splash on the premiere episode of World of Dance this week. Keep your eyes on them this season. I also put in a request to get them on To The Pointe this season — fingers crossed!
5. JT Church & Elliana Walmsley:
These two Dancing With the Stars: Juniors pros team up for a piece called "You Say," choreographed by Danny Lawn. They are the perfect dance match for each other. I am ready for more from JT and Elliana!
