I'm not going to get into a huge debate about why I didn't love Dance Moms, I think the unspoken reasons speak for themselves. I will go on record and say that I love some of the young personalities the show has introduced us to — Nia Sioux, Maddie Ziegler and Chloe Lukasiak.
For Chloe, leaving the show was a huge leap of faith. It's a risk departing from any successful series when you are an actor. As a reality show personality, it's even riskier because you don't know if your fans will follow you to your next project or stay loyal to the show.
Chloe handled the transition with grace and she has built a successful YouTube channel and a career beyond Dance Moms while staying in the Lifetime family. Center Stage: On Pointe premieres Lifetime on Saturday, June 25 with Chloe, Peter Gallagher, Sascha Radetsky, Kenny Wormald and Nicole Mu continuing the story of the American Ballet Academy.
I spoke with Chloe about her favorite scene from the TV movie at the Adventures In Babysitting red carpet:
Chloe has proven to me that she's a star away from the reality show that made her famous and she's hitting all the right notes in her career. Call me a fan.
